The long, slow road to recovery

written by Maurice

Well… there was a crash. And then a slow recovery. But, we’re almost back.

Continuing with the Jell-O Bath

written by Maurice

You never realize just how little you know about Jell-O until you decide to fill a bathtub full of the stuff. Some of the things I had to consider when planning the Jell-O bath were: How many gallons of water did the typical early-80’s bathtub hold? At the time of the Jell-O bath experiment I [...]

Heath Care Reform

written by Maurice

I spent a little bit of Monday poking around news sites. The Health Care Reform Bill hadn’t been signed by President Obama yet, but it was on the way to his desk. Comments I read, left by readers of the sites I was visiting, were mixed. On the pro-reform side you had people leaving this-is-the-best-thing-since-sliced-bread [...]

Another Field Sobriety Test

written by admin

As we continue with our story… The Cincinnati police officer came over and told me he was going to give me a field sobriety test. Even though I had just practiced for the UC cops I was a bit concerned. You never know how these things might go. The officer told me he wanted me [...]

The Cincinnati Police are Called In

written by Maurice

To bring yourself up to speed, you’ll want to start a couple of posts ago with one called Stupid Things. Now that were all on the same page. Baby, if you’ve ever wondered … wondered, whatever became of me … I’m livin’ on the air in Cincinnati …   "DON’T LIE TO ME!", the angry [...]

Never Lie to The Man

written by Maurice

… even when the man is a woman. From last time: A female University of Cincinnati police officer strolled up to the window. I let out and incredibly audible sigh that was heard for what it was. "What are you so relieved about?" the policewoman asked. "I thought you were going to be a man," [...]

The Lighthouse, Cincinnati and The Man

written by Maurice

Alright. You’ve all read the disclaimer from the other day. The one where I say I don’t condone a lot of the stupid things I did when I was younger. Good. It was probably 1982 and a group of us had decided to go to a bar called The Lighthouse in faraway Cincinnati.  Well, it [...]

Stupid Things

written by Maurice

I am not going to defend any of the stupid things I did when I was younger. Some of them, while possibly considered stupid by others (skydiving) were rather fun. Others there is no defense for; these are the ones I lie awake at night trying to figure out how to keep my kids from [...]

On The Road Again

written by Maurice

I took this from my cell phone not long ago as I was driving near Cincinnati. Sorry the image is so crappy.   I don’t think this picture does justice to just how much it looks like someone’s drawn a penis and testicles on the Warren County water tower. It’s actually a big “W” … [...]

Another Blog I Write

This Blog and Me

I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world.

My wife and I have more teenagers than you'd think a couple could possibly have and maintain their sanity. They keep us very busy and the time my wife and I have alone is not as much as we'd like. As I'd prefer to spend that time with her doing things other than droning on about my oddball notions, or stupid things I've done as a kid, I put them here.

Where my wife can read about them at her leisure. Over and over again. With wine, as needed.
